John L Scott recently launched a new web application that allows home buyers to search for sold property online. Businessweek covers it in greater detail.
The comparable sold property information is being made available by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, which services the Western Washington region, and is believed to be the first MLS in the nation to provide this type of information to real estate companies for public use. (read more)
So far, the service is only available to those who live in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon and Idaho). We’ll probably see a lot more MLS’s opening themselves up to the potential available to them online over the coming years.
