I’ve got to hand it to Brad Inman. The start of the actual conference was Inman talking about how technology and transparency are creating this massive change in the way we live and work – not just in real estate, but everywhere.
The next on stage was Zillow co-founders Barton and Frink. They went through 10 things that they’ve learned in the real estate industry since they launched just 6 months ago. It was funny, and upbeat, as you would expect from serial web entrepreneurs.
So, we’ve all got a good tech vibe going. It’s fun, especially for those of us who provide web technology answers for those in real estate.
Enter David Liniger Co-founder of RE/MAX. David has gone through 20 minutes of discounting internet technology, how he has no proof that it’s doing anything for RE/MAX agents except emptying their pockets. Pretty interesting. Way to rain on our parade.
So, it’s fun and I’m enjoying the discourse between all of them now that they’re on stage. There definitely is an old-school vs new-school feel to the conversation, and the clash of ideas and tradition are in full swing.
Here’s a video of each of them speaking on entrepreneurship and what it takes to “make it”.
