One of the great benefits of going to conferences like Inman Connect or NAR is that you come across new companies and make new aquaintances. On the last day, one of the speakers in the roundtable (a non-real estate indusrtry tech-guy) discussion mentioned how searching for a home in the San Francisco area was greatly facilitated by a website called CleanOffer. Due to the cheering that erupted in the row behind me, I was able to meet Jennifer Marsh, their Director of Business.
CleanOffer is doing things a little differently. Their goal is to create a virtual handshake between a willing client and a real estate agent. They then strengthen that relationship through their customer relationship management (CRM) tool. At the end of the day, realtors are the customers with access to clients who know they are being courted.
Home buyers end up being happy because they have 100% access to the MLS and they can surf it at will. In exchange for that service they agree to be paired up with a real estate agent. CleanOffer claims that this service has resulted in 40% of buyers purchasing through their CleanOffer agent.
Right now CleanOffer is only available in the San Francisco area, but they have plans to move into New England and the D.C. Metro Area soon. 90% of the top 100 producers in Marine County, CA (where CleanOffer started) use their services, and 35% of all agents in the county use them.
As CleanOffer moves forward and grows, it will be interesting to see if they can make the same impact on new territories.
