If you lived in the Annapolis / Baltimore / Washington DC area over the past 60 years you probably did far better than that chart would lead the casual observer to believe. My properties have seen far higher appreciation, even after adjusting for inflation. The chart is useless because it fails to consider popular geographic areas. It is a true mean of the nation as a whole, which for any of us in particular is meaningless. Interesting chart, though utterly useless.
