Let’s be honest, we all find the week between Christmas and New Years a little hard to get any real work done on. Half the office is on vacation, none of your vendors or partners are available to reach and frankly, you would rather be doing something fun.
Things are no different here around eppraisal.com. A couple of us decided to break out a little of our time and create a mashup minisite for real estate. Famous last thoughts before we got started, “how about we create a mashup that maps the web applications, websites and blogs in the US real estate world online?”
Realty AppMap is just that. We’ve seeded it with a couple dozen companies and bloggers that we knew the addresses of, or could find fairly easily. However, we know that there are many many more, especially bloggers, that aren’t listed. You can sort the list by the tags at the top, or you can move the map around an look at it by geographic location.
We’d like you to add to that list by submitting your blog or company to it. You can do that by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page “Click here to submit your company”. If you’d rather not put in a street address, that’s fine, we’ll accept it if it has the city/state fields filled out.
Have fun, and please email us if you have any questions, thoughts or suggestions.
[Update: The site is up and running again. Apologies for the downtime this weekend.]

Cool idea. It would be sweet to find bloggers and such nearby.
Hey Darin, that’s what we’re trying to do. Hopefully bloggers will enter in their location, even if it’s just City/State, so that they can hook up and find other bloggers easier.
It’ll be getting better as we have a little more time to tweak it.
I entered my blog. Or I thought I did. Doesn’t show up. Is there some delay before it’s mapped?
Hi Jay. I’m looking into it now. It appears that some people have been able to enter their information, but I’m wondering if others are not getting through. Worst case scenario, email it to me and I’ll put it in manually (use the email button on the page)
Great idea. I entered my blog. It didn’t show up right away until I clicked an appropriate tag.
This could work well for other topics in the blogmos as well. Imagine this sort of thing put together with MyBlogLog.
This is a very cool idea. I’m going to highlight in in the kitchen sink coverage we do every weekend, so look for that tomorrow.
One side note: the site doesn’t really like IE7.
Okay, looks like our hiccup is fixed and you should be able to submit your company or blog again. Thanks for your patience.
Spencer, that’s a good idea. We could add a logo or the MyBlogLog avatar of the blogger. I’ll have to see what that would take.
